The table is in London but the soul is in Chile

Every gathering a journey home and back

Our Story

From the field of embroidered flowers…

Mesa chilena con platos típicos
A long table, wine, and our people · santiago / london

We grew up among flower-embroidered tablecloths, pots that simmered slowly all afternoon, and conversations that lingered until the last glass of red was empty. The table was never just a table: it was the place where days were recounted, sorrows were laughed away, and anyone who arrived hungry or with news was welcomed.

Today, thousands of miles away, that habit follows us still. We brought to London the flavours of the countryside, the city, and the coast, and laid them on a shared tablecloth for anyone who wants to sit with us.

…all the way to our London kitchen. We cook with patience, with memory, and with something that is inherited more than learned: the gesture of someone who plates a dish thinking of the person who will receive it.

Our Kitchen

All the way to our London kitchen

La Junta home
Rustic counter · copper, slate, and fresh produce

We gather flavours from coast to countryside: fish that recalls the sea of Valparaíso, garden herbs, slow-cooked corn, chillies that wake the table. We take the humblest ingredient and give it the place of honour.

Every dish is a small story that tells a bigger one: that of a country cooked whole in a single pot. We don't want to surprise with tricks — we want to return to that flavour you recognise without knowing why: the one from your grandmother's kitchen, the market stall, the Sunday fire.

In simplicity lies beauty.

The Community

Who we are

La Junta community
Around the table · our people · london

We are a couple of Chileans in London who, after several long winters, began to miss something hard to explain: our custom of gathering to eat for no reason, of setting another plate if someone arrived, of staying late talking because the after-dinner conversation is also part of the recipe.

That is how La Junta was born: a supper club that repeats month after month, a long table open to anyone who wants to sit down, where Chilean food is the excuse and community is the main course.

Information

Policies and frequently asked questions

How much does a ticket cost and where is it held?
Each gathering ticket is £65 per person and includes the full menu (starter, main, dessert) plus a welcome cocktail. Events are held at a venue near London Bridge — the exact address is shared in the confirmation email once payment is complete.
Do I have to be Chilean to attend?
Not at all. La Junta is open to anyone who wants to sit at the table. All we ask is a willingness to share, talk, and be surprised by Chilean food.
What kind of dishes do you serve?
Chilean food made in London, with nods to coast, countryside, and city. Empanadas, fish, slow stews, corn, creole herbs, and lifelong desserts. The menu changes each month with the season.
What does the menu include?
Each gathering's menu is published in the confirmation email, with two options to choose from (one always with a vegetarian alternative). It usually includes a starter, main, and dessert.
What drinks are included in the menu?
Each gathering includes a welcome pisco sour and a glass of Chilean wine selected to accompany the main course. Still water and non-alcoholic options are also included.
What if I want more than one glass of wine?
We will have additional bottles available for those who want to keep going. These are paid for on the spot, directly at the table.
Do you have vegetarian or gluten-free options?
Yes. We always offer at least one vegetarian option and can adapt the menu to a gluten-free diet if you let us know in advance when reserving.
What happens if I have food allergies?
Let us know in the reservation form and we will confirm by email what adaptations we can make. If the allergy is severe, we will be transparent with you about our shared kitchen.
How often do you hold events?
Once a month, usually on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. You can subscribe to receive dates in advance.
Can I cancel once I have reserved and paid?
We accept cancellations with a full refund up to 7 days before the event. After that date, we can transfer your spot to another person or to the next gathering, subject to availability.
