A table in London, a soul in Chile.

Every gathering a journey home and back

Our Story

From the field of embroidered flowers…

Mesa chilena con platos típicos

We grew up among tablecloths embroidered with flowers, pots that simmered slowly all afternoon, and conversations that lingered until the last glass of red was empty. The table was never just a table, it was where the day was retold, sorrows were laughed off, and hearts were filled, because a full belly makes a happy heart.

Today, thousands of miles away, that custom still follows us. We've brought the flavours of the countryside, the city and the coast to London, and laid them out on the same tablecloth to share with anyone who'd care to sit down with us.

Our Kitchen

All the way to our London kitchen

La Junta kitchen

Our cooking is a journey back home. We seek out ingredients from the sea coast to the countryside to recreate the flavours we hold in our memory and give them pride of place.

Every dish is a story that echoes our rich and varied culture. We're not here to dazzle with complex ideas, we want to return to those simple flavours, a reminder that beauty lies in simplicity.

The Community

Who we are

We're a couple of Chileans who started missing that blend of home cooking and the long, lingering Chilean sobremesa.

That is how La Junta was born, a club that comes together month after month around a proper Chilean table, where Chilean food is the excuse to gather and community is the real main course.

FAQ

Policies and Frequently Asked Questions

How much is the ticket and where does it take place?
Each junta ticket is £65 per person and includes the full menu (starter, main, dessert) plus a welcome cocktail. Events are held at a venue near London Bridge. The exact address is shared in the confirmation email once payment is complete.
Do I have to be Chilean to come along?
Not at all. La Junta is open to anyone who'd like to sit at the table. All we ask is a willingness to share, chat and be surprised by Chilean cooking.
What kind of dishes do you serve?
Chilean cooking made in London, with nods to the coast, the countryside and the city. Empanadas, fish, slow stews, sweetcorn, Chilean herbs and traditional puddings. The menu changes each month with the season.
What's on the menu?
The menu for each junta is shared in your confirmation email, with two options to choose from (one of them always has a vegetarian alternative). It usually includes a starter, main and dessert.
What drinks are included in the menu?
Every junta includes a welcome pisco sour and a glass of Chilean wine chosen to go with the main. Water and non-alcoholic options are also included.
What if I'd like more than one glass of wine?
We'll have extra bottles available for anyone who'd like to carry on. They're paid for on the day, directly at the table.
Do you have vegetarian or gluten-free options?
Yes. We always offer at least one vegetarian option, and we can adapt the menu to a gluten-free diet if you let us know in advance when booking.
What if I have food allergies?
Let us know on the booking form and we'll confirm by email what adjustments we can make. If your allergy is severe, we'll be upfront with you about the realities of a shared kitchen.
How often do you hold events?
Once a month, usually on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. You can sign up to receive the dates in advance.
Can I cancel my booking once I've reserved and paid?
We accept cancellations with a full refund up to 7 days before the event. After that, we can transfer your place to someone else or to the next junta, subject to availability.
